Ed McMahon's Home Buyer Steps Forward
The anonymous benefactor who bought the loan on bankrupt star Ed McMahon’s Beverly Hills mansion and allowed the entertainer to continue to live there until his death last year at 86 has stepped forward.

Dan Schryer, a technology and real estate investor, says he bought McMahon’s foreclosed property as both an investment and a kind way to help the star avoid disruption and embarrassment. “The overriding thing for me was doing a good deed,” he said.

Schryer, who wouldn’t say what he paid for the mortgage, plans to put the house on the market next year for about $4.5 million and hopes to make a “modest return” when it sells.
